چکیده

Title: Xenografts and Periodontal Regeneration. Background: The goal of periodontal therapy is to regenerate a functional attachment apparatus. However, the extent of regeneration is variable, and depends on a variety of biologic and procedural factors. In this review, we summarize the current literature describing the use of xenografts for periodontal regeneration. Methods: An electronic search using the PubMed database of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, National Institues of Health was performed in April 2015. In addition, a manual search of the Journal of Periodontology, Journal of Clinical Periodontology, and the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry also was conducted, as well as additional papers derived from the initial search. Key search words included grafting, xenografts, regeneration, guided tissue regeneration, and immunogenicity. All available publication years were searched, although papers published in the last 10 years were given greater consideration. Conclusions: The literature supports the use of xenografts as an effective alternative in periodontal regeneration. Xenograft materials generally are biocompatible and widely accepted. When compared to open flap debridement, treatment of intrabony or furcation defects using bovine-derived bone generally results in enhanced clinical outcomes similar to other grafting materials used in periodontal therapy.

The Role Of Enamel Matrix Protein Derivatives In Periodontal Tissue Regenetation: Revisited

Periodontitis is a chronic destructive inflammatory disease of the supporting tissues of the teeth which ultimately results in tooth loss if left untreated. Generally therapeutic approaches for treating periodontitis generally fall into two major categories, ie one to halt the progression of periodontal attachment loss, and the one designed to regenerate or reconstruct lost periodontal tissues....

Natural graft tissues and synthetic biomaterials for periodontal and alveolar bone reconstructive applications: a review

Periodontal disease is categorized by the destruction of periodontal tissues. Over the years, there have been several clinical techniques and material options that been investigated for periodontal defect repair/regeneration. The development of improved biomaterials for periodontal tissue engineering has significantly improved the available treatment options and their clinical results. Bone rep...

Advanced tissue engineering in periodontal Regeneration

The old wishes of people were to regenerate lost tissues of periodontium that this fact is achieved by gen and cell therapy .Periodontal disease is a chronic inflammation around the tooth by microbes that causes destruction of supporting structure of tissue of tooth such as alveolar bone, cementum and periodontal ligament. For treatment of periodontal diseases we can use the biomaterials which ...

Osseous grafting part II: xenografts and alloplasts for periodontal regeneration--a literature review.

Osseous grafting represents one mode of therapy to manage periodontal osseous defects. Materials for osseous grafting can be obtained from the same person (autografts), from a different person of the same species (allografts), from a different species (xenografts), or from synthetic materials (alloplasts). The two types of grafts most frequently used in periodontal therapy are autogenous grafts...
